Dallas Drone : Why Drones?

Thomas: Yes, that’s right. We’re going to talk about why it’s important to use photography and videography and Dallas drone services to market listings and use us for other commercial purposes.

Gretchen: Absolutely, Thomas. Can you tell me, the last time you went on to property website or Facebook, did you read a full page description about the property?

Thomas: I always read every description of every property.

Gretchen: Oh, sure great.

Thomas: I don’t think– since I’ve started this business I have ever read a description for a house. I think that’s something that most homeowners or most potential home buyers are — that’s the truth about them. They’re not going to read a description about a home and they’re going to look at the video, they’re going to watch the video. They’re going to look at the photos and make a decision on whether or not to go and look at that house or maybe just buy that house without reading a description.

It’s so much easier and more convenient for them to look at that and to look at Dallas drone footage and see what that looks like and then go make a decision on the house.

Gretchen: Right, absolutely. I mean, really, it just sticks with someone so much more to see a visual representation of the house. You really can’t describe that cheesy saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” but honestly you really cannot use words to describe a home unless you’re Nicholas Sparks.

Thomas: Yes, I guess so. Especially luxury homes, you could almost write a book sometimes about some of the features that they have and what’s important in that home and who built what and all that. But, really, you just want to see it and you see to believe and seeing it puts a level of realism behind it. You understand that it’s there and how it all fits together and you can read a description that talks about this architect did this and this guy did this and these stones came from Italy and–

But if you don’t see it, you still can’t conceptualize how that house looks so it’s super important to use professional Dallas drone media to market your home.

Gretchen: Thomas, what type of Dallas drone media exists besides just your standard still photos?

Thomas: The Dallas drone media that we provide goes above and beyond still photos and it does not only aerial still photography, that’s just basically photos taken from the air with a Dallas drone. But it’s Dallas drone videography and that video is taken with the drone and then it’s spliced with interior video footage and made into one comprehensive video to really market and sell the home.

Gretchen: Awesome.

Thomas: Yes, it’s great. It’s really great media, the Dallas drones can provide just a great overall experience and marketing presentations for people that are trying to sell their home.

Gretchen: What’s the best way for realtors to use this media?

Thomas: The realtors can use the Dallas drone media in a variety of ways. That can include their personal website, their brokerage website, the property websites that we provide, social media, putting our property website links on their yard signs. It varies based on what their target audience is and how they’re most likely going to find that home and whether that’s Facebook or whether that’s a mailer with maybe a website link to it or an email blast. It depends on the target audience of that realtor and of that person selling their home.

Gretchen: Now, a lot of realtors will receive photos and they’ll upload a video to Youtube and then they just expect magic to happen and viewership to happen. Is that the case?

Thomas: I wish. A lot of these realtors think that once they pay for us to create the Dallas drone video and media that they’re done and now they don’t have to do anything else. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, it’s just like anything. If you have Apple makes a great phone but if they would have never branded themselves appropriately and promoted that product and spent tons of money marketing it, then no one would have ever seen it. But they have a great video that talks about what an iPhone is and a home is similar.

Maybe you have a great home and you have a great video but if you don’t get that in front of as many people as you can and interest people with that video, then no one is ever going to watch it and it’s a waste of time. It’s important to share it on social media and put links on your flyers or your mailers and just get it out to as many people as possible.

Gretchen: That’s great advice. Does Full Package Media have any contacts that could help with social media work?

Thomas: Yes, we do. We have some people that we work with and help each other out. They help some of our clients with social media marketing and SEO purposes and we help them with providing some media services to their clients. It’s a mutualistic relationship referring clients to and from each other so there are some things and if you have simple questions about how to post a property website on social media? Gretchen: All right. Now, going back to our original question of, would you rather see a photo or read a description? What if a realtor has a specific vision for photos that they want, is there a way for them to share that with Full Package Media? Maybe through their online portal or–

Thomas: Yes there is. Clients can– on our online system, they can create client profile notes and they can put in notes about what kind of photography they like. Or they can put maybe that they like more straight on shots versus shots from the corner or maybe they really would want more photos used or spent on the master bedroom and living rooms before any secondary bedrooms are taken. Or maybe they only want photographs taken of rooms that are staged and want the empty rooms left out. It really depends but clients can pick and choose what their preference was and we’ll adhere to those to the best of our ability.

Or maybe a client does twilight but they only want twilight they don’t want twilight and daytime exterior photos done, which I know we have at least one client and that’s what he prefers. We try to cater to those needs the best we can and provide whatever our clients need.

Gretchen: Now, what advice can you give to sellers, the actual homeowners who are selling their homes when it comes to preparing for photos and really being able to capture that vision? Is it better to fill the room with everything they’ve got or–

Thomas: That’s the best thing. It’s just take all furniture and all belongings and put in your living room. But really it’s best when you’re preparing for a Dallas drone shoot to have everything where it belongs and I tell homeowners, “It’s okay, if your home looks lived in. People expect that a home– you should have a couch in your living room and you should have some magazines on your coffee table and that kind of thing. But it’s all in moderation and you don’t want it ever to look cluttered.”

It can be silly but people see a cluttered home and they think bugs and they think the house is not well kept and if your house is dirty then maybe you haven’t done preventative maintenance. And you haven’t gotten things fixed as they need to be fixed. It’s big not just for the general aesthetics but buyers really look into photos and analyze them a lot more than you might think and so that’s important to have great photos.
